A lot of people are fine calling Jesus a good teacher. The Bible calls Him King.
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9–11
Before the crown, a cross
The “therefore” points back to the verse before it. Jesus “humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:8). The way up went down first.
Every knee
One day everyone will confess that Jesus is Lord. Revelation pictures Him coming back with His name written out:
“On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.” Revelation 19:16
Christians get to say it now, gladly. That’s what this shirt is for.
