This is the verse our name comes from.
“Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!” Luke 12:24
Where it comes from
A man in the crowd asked Jesus to settle a fight over an inheritance. Jesus warned him about greed and told a story about a rich man who built bigger barns, then died that same night. Then He turned to His disciples and told them not to be anxious about their lives. (Luke 12:13–22)
Why ravens
Under the law of Moses, ravens were unclean birds (Leviticus 11:15). Nobody raised them and nobody fed them. God did. If He takes care of a bird nobody wanted, He hasn’t forgotten you.
What it means for you
Your worth isn’t your bank account, your looks or how much you get done. God decides what you’re worth, and the cross shows how much: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
That frees you from living anxious. Jesus finished the thought like this:
“Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.” Luke 12:31
The shirt
