We made this one for Citypoint Church in Tempe. Their mission statement: Walking the way of Jesus. Doing the works of Jesus.
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. Matthew 4:19–20
Where it comes from
Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee when He saw two brothers, Simon Peter and Andrew, casting their nets. He called them, and they dropped everything to follow Him. (Matthew 4:18–20)
What a disciple is
A disciple is a student who follows the teacher so closely they start to live like Him. There’s an old saying for it: may you be covered in the dust of your rabbi.
For us that means His words shape how we live (John 8:31), and we help other people follow Him too (Matthew 28:19–20).
